Home Care for people with Learning Disabilities

Our specialist care and support assistants have specific training and experience to understand the complex needs and differing areas of learning disability. North Haven can support you to discover a more vibrant social life that helps build self-confidence and independence.

We know that people with learning disabilities want the same things out of life as everyone else to choose where they live and who with, to have relationships and be able to get employment. North Haven provide the right support for people with learning disabilities to ensure their experience of life matches their plans and potential. We listen to what the people we support and what their families tell us. They tell us what their diagnosis means to them, about the different challenges they face, and the personalised support they need in order to live the lives they choose.

We support people with learning disabilities to live as independently as possible in their own homes and to access community-based resources of their choice. Support is also available to go on holiday or short breaks. Our approach is to be person-centred and to put the people we support at the heart of everything we do. We use a range of person-centred thinking tools and plans to put this into practice.

Some of the ways we can help:

  • Group activities
  • Getting out & about
  • Accompanied holidays
  • Companionship & friendship
  • Personal care services

These are just a few suggestions. Following a quick call to arrange a meeting, we can sit down together so you can tell us what you need, we can then design a plan that suits you.
